Blake Baggett began his night on a high note, launching off the line as the gate dropped on his heat race ahead of the pack, rounding the first corner, to securing the holeshot.  He would go on to extend a gap between he and the rest of the riders until a mistake in a complex rhythm section led him to jump off the track, into the catch net behind the first bowl turn.  Blake quickly regrouped and made his way back up to 7th where he finished, transferring him straight to the main event.  Blake would have to work a little harder in his main event, as an incident in the sand section caused him to fall back to the end of the field.  This didn’t stop “El Chupacabra” from buckling down and charging his way through position after position to break into the top ten, and finished the race in 9th place.  This finish keeps him in 3rd place in the championship points standings!

Qualifying for Blake went well in Texas, as he was able to post the 5th fastest time of all the riders.  As the gates dropped on his heat race, he rocketed off the line, barley missing the holeshot.  Baggett went on to ride consistently around the demanding track, and was able to finish his laps in 5th place, sending him straight to the main event.  The start of the main event proved similar to the heat, as the #4 nearly missed the holeshot again! As the race wore on, Blake would lose a couple positions, but put his head down and charged back up to 4th place as the clock hit the mid-way point.  He would then go onto close the gap on third and overtake Anderson for his 3rd podium finish in a row! This impressive performance at Arlington propels Blake Baggett into 3rd place in the championship points standings, only four points away from second.

The start of the night would see Blake Baggett charging out of the gate and around turn one inside the top 5 in his heat race.  Blake stayed on point and battled for position, to cross the checkered flag in 6th place, more than enough to put him straight through to the Main.  As the gates dropped on the Main Event, Baggett rocketed off the line and made it to turn one just behind Cole Seely, who secured the holeshot.  He would go on to lose a couple positions early in the race, but by the half-way point make his way back up to 3rd, and putting his attention toward overtaking Ken Roczen for 2nd.  BB4 would stay on the gas especially through the whoop section, allowing him to close the gap between him and 2nd place.  Blake never let up, but couldn’t make the pass.  He would finish the race in 3rd place, his first podium finish of the season, moving him up to 7th place in the championship points standings.  That puts Blake Baggett only 9 points away from 4th place.
