Blake Baggett was on top of his game in SLC! He rocketed out of the gate in Heat 1, securing the holeshot and taking an early lead. He would then fall back one position after a back-and-forth battle for the lead with Marvin Musquin. “El Chupacabra” never gave up though, nipping at the heels of the Frenchmen till the end, and ultimately finishing the heat in 2nd place. It was deja vu all over again as the gate dropped for the main event and Baggett shot off the line and into the lead, obtaining his 2nd holeshot of the night! A few laps into the main, he would lose the front end, causing Blake to do a handstand over the bars! Luckily, he was able to save it, and continued on in 2nd place. With focus and determination, Baggett counted off the laps, and crossed the finish line in 3rd place, his fourth podium finish of the season! With only one race left, Blake goes into Las Vegas tied for 4th in the championship points!
“It was a good race,” said Baggett. “My starts were solid, and it felt good to grab that holeshot and to get back up on the podium. I’m ready for Vegas and to finish the season off strong with another podium.”
