Round 3 of the 2017 Monster Energy Supercross Series was held at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, CA. With rain all the way up until the weekend, we got lucky with clear skies come race day! Team RMATVMC riders Blake Baggett and Davi Millsaps were ready to come back out swinging.
Heat Race #2 – Blake Baggett #4 & Davi Millsaps #18
Blake and Davi were both placed in Heat 2 after qualifying. Main Event Results Determined to better themselves every weekend, they used the power of their Rocky Mountain ATV/MC KTM 450’s to jump out of the gate and enter the first turn in the 1 and 2 spots! Davi would holeshot and lead the entire race to the checkered flag with Blake just a bike length behind him. This was awesome to see the two Rocky Mountain boys on top together!
Main Event – Blake Baggett #4 & Davi Millsaps #18
Blake got off to a good start in the Main Event. Unfortunately for the RMATVMC KTM rider, a small mistake on lap 1 would set him to the back half of the pack. He would end up a few spots in front of his teammate Davi Millsaps who didn’t have the best luck off of the gate in this Main Event. Davi put on a charge and caught Blake and continued to charge from 13th to 9th place. After another small mistake, Blake would regain his composure and put in a consistent rest of the race. He stayed right on the back fender of his teammate until the checkered flag. Davi would end up finishing a solid 9th place and Blake would round out the top 10.
Broc Tickle #20 – RCH Suzuki
Broc had a little trouble in turn 1 of his heat race that would set him back a few spots. He would put in a charge to try to make the Main straight from the Heat Race but would fall just shy of a transfer spot and take a trip to Semi #1.
In Semi #1, Broc would grab a start in the top 5 and quickly begin doing work on the riders in front of him. He would move from 4th to 2nd by the time the checkered flag dropped to earn a spot in the Main Event.
Broc put the power of the Yoshimura RCH Suzuki 450 to the ground to get a start in the top 10 in the Main Event. He ran into some problems in the first lap that caused him to go down. He would get back on the bike in dead last and have to make a charge to sacrifice as many points as possible. With a solid ride and charging throughout the entire race, Broc would make his way up to an impressive 12th place where he would find the checkered flag. Broc rode great and is looking forward to getting better starts to put himself towards the front of the pack!
