Blake Baggett

Blake Baggett began his night on a high note, launching off the line as the gate dropped on his heat race ahead of the pack, rounding the first corner, to securing the holeshot.  He would go on to extend a gap between he and the rest of the riders until a mistake in a complex rhythm section led him to jump off the track, into the catch net behind the first bowl turn.  Blake quickly regrouped and made his way back up to 7th where he finished, transferring him straight to the main event.  Blake would have to work a little harder in his main event, as an incident in the sand section caused him to fall back to the end of the field.  This didn’t stop “El Chupacabra” from buckling down and charging his way through position after position to break into the top ten, and finished the race in 9th place.  This finish keeps him in 3rd place in the championship points standings!

“Tonight was tough,” said Baggett. “I felt I had the speed tonight. It was unfortunate about the incident early in the main, as I feel we could have been up front. We will regroup and look forward to getting back on the podium in Atlanta next weekend.”

Benny Bloss

Benny Bloss was feeling good coming into Tampa, and that was evident in his heat race!  He was able to attain a good start, putting him inside the top ten right off the line.  He kept the speed up, and worked his way up to 5th position as the checkered flag flew, transferring him to the main. Regrettably, an incident early in the main event ended Benny’s night early.

Anthony Rodriguez

Anthony Rodriguez’s night started off strong as he launched out of the gate in his heat race and around the first turn in 5th. He hit all his lines, and would go straight to the main due to a 6th place finish.   Anthony took that same energy to the 250SX main event, barley missing the first lap pile-up to fight for positions inside the top ten for almost the entire race. He rode consistantly on the challenging track, only falling back a few spots to finish the night in 11th place.
