St. Louis Supercross 2017 – SoCal SuperTrucks

Round 13 of the 2017 Monster Energy Supercross series took place at The Dome in St. Louis, MO. The track was pretty tight and hard to pass on. It definitely made for an interesting race and several riders had issues here at The Dome this weekend.

Blake Baggett #4RMATVMC KTM 450SX
Blake Baggett started off the day right with a great start in his Heat Race. He came out of the first turn in 3rd right behind his teammate Davi Millsaps. Both of the RMATVMC riders would ride a solid race and keep the leader Jason Anderson in their sights. Blake would finish just a half second behind his teammate to take 3rd and head to the Main Event.
Blake had a great jump off the gate in the Main Event but would get pinched off in the first turn and find himself in about 13th Place after lap 1. After some mistakes early in the race, he would find his groove and start picking off riders. The tracked proved to be hard to make passes on, but Blake would manage to make his way up to 7th Place by the time the checkered flag waved.

Davi Millsaps #18RMATVMC KTM 450SX
Davi Millsaps got off to a great start early in the day with a 2nd Place start in his heat race. With his teammate Blake Baggett right on his rear fender the whole race, he would have to ride smooth and try not to make any mistakes. Millsaps did just that and never lost sight of the leader Jason Anderson. Davi finished in 2nd and would head to the Main Event.
In the Main Event, Millsaps would get a great jump and come out of the first turn in about 4th Place. Davi would find himself in a couple battles early on and would move back to 6th. A mistake by Millsaps would cause him to go down and  drop down to 15th. He would be able to regain his composure and pass a couple riders to move up to 13th where he would finish the Main Event. Millsaps would be bummed on the late race mistake and is excited to come back strong in Seattle.

Broc Tickle #20 – Yoshimura RCH Suzuki RM-Z450
In his Heat Race, Tickle rounded the first turn just inside the top 10. Broc struggled to fight through the pack on this technical track. He rode a good race but would fall short of a transfer spot. Broc finished the Heat Race in 8th and would head to the Semi.
In the Semi, Broc would come out of the first turn around 6th Place. He would have to put in some work to move into a qualifying position and transfer to the Main Event. An early takeout pass from Justin Barcia on Alex Ray would put them 2 on the ground and Tickle would move into 4th. Shortly after, he would make a pass and move into 3rd where he would finish this Semi and head to the Main Event.
In the Main Event, Broc would be on the outside for the first turn and would find himself sitting in 14th Place after lap 1. He would begin charging towards the front and looked pretty comfortable on the bike. Even with the hard to pass layout of this track, Tickle would find a way to move towards the front. He would end up finishing the Main Event in 8th Place.

Dakota Alix #70 – RMATVMC KTM 250SX
Dakota Alix would get a great jump out of the gate in the Heat Race and would enter the first turn looking for a holeshot. After being pinched off, he would get pushed back to about 7th Place. Alix found his rhythm and would pass a couple riders back to find himself in 5th Place. He rode a great race and ended up in 6th as he crossed the checkered flag and would earn himself a spot in the Main Event.
In the Main Event, Alix got another great jump and would grab the holeshot this time! Current points leader Joey Savatgy would make a pass in the next cornter to put Alix into 2nd. After being boxed out in the next corner, Dakota would find himself sitting in 6th place after lap 1. He would have to battle the entire race as the 250 class is packed with fast riders. He would end up finishing the Main Event in 13th Place.
