SoCal SuperTrucks backed Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC returned to racing as round four of the 2019 Pro Motocross Championship series decende upon High Point MX in Mt. Morris, PA this past weekend. Blake Baggett would earn a moto win, Justin Bogle finished inside the top ten once again and Benny Bloss joined his teammates returning to action after recovering from his pre-season injury.
Blake Baggett looked refreshed from the break and put in the 3rd fastest time around the High Point track in morning qualifying. He kept the momentum going in moto one as he launched out of the gate leading the field into the first turn to secure the holeshot. He stayed on the gas, as he held off a charge from Eli Tomac and pulled out a sizable lead to run away with the moto win. Moto two wouldn’t start as well as the first, as Blake slipped back to the tail end of the top ten after the first lap. He feverishly started working his way forward just outside the top five until going down hard mid-race. Blake would remount to finish 15th, earning 7th overall for the day.
The gate dropped on the opening round of the 2019 Pro Motocross Championship series at Northern California’s Hangtown MX outdoor national last weekend. It was a special race as Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC came together with 51Fifty Energy Drink and the Carlos Vieria Foundation to dedicate this round to Autism Awareness. With the bikes running special graphics from HBD MotoGrafx, Blake Baggett started the season with an 8th place finish, and teammate Justin Bogle secured a 10th place finish
As the gate dropped for moto one, Blake Baggett shot off the line to round the first turn just outside the top five. He then wasted no time making the move for 5th place. Blake kept the charge and as the rain started to come down, he would slide back one spot taking the checkered flag in 6th. The rain didn’t stop for moto two, but Blake stayed on the throttle at the start and finished lap one inside the front pack. After slipping back outside the top ten mid-race due to worsening track conditions, Blake navigated the muddy track fighting his way to 10th place at the checkered flag, earning 8th overall for the day.
Round three of the 2018 Pro Motocross Championship series headed to the looming hills of the Glen Helen MX outdoor national this past weekend. SoCal SuperTrucks backed Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS rider Blake Baggett buckled down, riding without a grip in the second moto to score a 7th place overall finish, while teammate Benny Bloss held down an 11th place finish and Dakota Alix took 18th in the 250MX class.
Blake Baggett started out the day of racing with the 4th fastest time of the day in qualifying, which would foreshadow his performance in the first moto. He got on the gas right away, and shot out of the gate finding himself among the top ten riders early on in the race. Blake then made his way from there up into the top 5, where he would hold position to finish 5th. Unfortunately, moto two would not go as smoothly for #4. Despite a great start, and nearly missing the holeshot, Blake would go down in the next corner with both him and his bike getting run over multiple times, tearing off his left grip. But in true “El Chupacabra” fashion, Baggett picked up his bike, sans left grip, hopped on and never looked back. He proceded to charge from dead last all the way up to 9th place by the end of the moto. His 5-9 score would earn him a 7th overall, putting him 5th in championship points.
