Due to the inclement weather in San Diego, there was only one practice session for riders. Still, Blake Baggett found a fast line through the mud to qualify with the 4th fastest lap time of the day. With perfect gate timing in his heat, Blake would lead the pack into turn one, securing the holeshot. He would then slide back a few positions, but continue to ride strong and stay in 5th to cross the finishline in 5th, Transfering straight to the Main. Another great start from the #4 saw him navigating the first turn inside the top three. Blake would run inside the top five for over half the race, until making a mistake in the deep mud, causing him to go down. He jumpped back on his KTM and ultimatly finished the night inside the top ten, taking 9th place. This moves Blake Bagget up to 5th in the championship points standings.
