Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS headed to Colorado as round three of the 2019 Pro Motocross Championship series visited Thunder Valley MX in Lakewood, CO this past weekend. Riders Blake Baggett and Justin Bogle rode solid, each earning top ten overall finishes.
Blake Baggett raced both motos with a sore wrist from last weekend’s first crash at Pala. Even though it was much better, his wrist was still held him back. In moto one, he rounded the first turn inside the top five. Soon, he found himself defending his top five position while battling the muddy track conditions from the rain earlier in the day. Ultimately, he kept the charge holding on to cross the checkered flag in 7th. Blake would start moto two up front, as he lead the field up the hill into turn one. With the track now dried out, he would battle for position inside the top five for the first half of the race. He would hit his lines, again taking 7th, earning 7th overall for the day.
The weekend off comes at the perfect time for Blake, as he looks to come into High Point healed up and ready to battle for the win.
“It was a good day,” said Baggett. “I felt good out there and rode consistent on the rough track. We will take this break to recharge and be ready to chase that podium at High Point in a few weeks.”
Justin Bogle got a good launch off the gate, rounding the first turn in moto one inside the top five. He continued to battle inside the top ten on the muddy track, holding off challenges from the competition to take the checkered flag in 10th place. Another good start in moto two allowed Justin to start in the top ten. He continued to charge throughout the moto and crossed the finish line in 10th , matching his first moto result to end the day 10th overall.
“A better day overall,” said Bogle. “We made some progress and my pace was better this weekend. We still have some work to do, so we’ll take this break to recharge and then be ready at High Point.”
